Can't Remove Wafer Core

Got a cool old key? What keyway is this?! Need a key for that old steamer trunk or padlock? Do Not Duplicate got you down? What's that part number for that factory key section? Which supplier has this key blank in stock? Need the MACS, root depth, or Depth and Spacing for your lock? Need some pre cut keys? Keys and Key Blanks is the forum for you!

Can't Remove Wafer Core

Postby cedave » 7 Sep 2024 21:22

I have an access panel wafer lock on a John Deere Backhoe that I can't remove the core/cylinder from.
I've tried depressing the back wafer thinking this would allow removal of the cylinder, but to no avail. I think this lock may have a pinned-in cylinder core but I'm not certain.
Would appreciate any help I can get on this one. I would like to remove the cylinder so I can re-key the locks. This backhoe has 4 of these access panels that I need to rekey.
I looked for replacement lever lock assemblies, but can't seem to find any on the web. The hoe is a 1995 so these type of parts are long discontinued.
Please Help!!!!!
Thanks Dave

Almost forgot, also if anyone knows what key blank I might need for these locks that info would be much appreciated. I tried an old Briggs and Stratton key I had laying around and it kind of fit ok but not sure what the key blank code would be for that.
