When exactly does Schlage Primus XP expire in 2024?

Regular Primus patent protection already expired in 2007. Primus XP patent protection is anticipated to expire August 9th 2024

Right before they get the patent for the #8 finger pin keys to extend the patent yet further. 2024 is when the Primus XP patent expires. For exact dates, you can look it up yourself. Use my good friend Mr. Google to find the patent.

But don't expect the market to be awash in cheap, easily accessible Primus XP key blanks and cylinders on August 10, if that's what you were getting at in your question. A lot of formerly-restricted keyways never get picked up by any of the non-OEM manufacturers, because there's not enough demand to justify them spending the money on the tooling to do so (even if they are no longer legally prohibited).

Ironically computer controlled tools would have significantly lowered the cost of making broaches and milling cutters and this has led to a proliferation of 'restricted' keyways with smaller numbers of plugs and blanks being produced compare with in the past.
