Would you like to see a Hobby Machine Shop sub forum?

Enjoy watching chips pile up as you make a sweet cutaway lock? Do you have a youtube channel showing off your new mini lathe? Get excited when you buy a new X-Y table? When someone says Bridgeport, do you perk up? Then this is the forum for you!

Would you like to see an area within Hardware called The Machine Shop?

Poll ended at 6 Dec 2020 8:41

Yes, that would be great!

Would you like to see a Hobby Machine Shop sub forum?

Postby Squelchtone » 3 Dec 2020 8:41

I know some members here have lathes and mills and enjoy tinkering in their home machine shops.

We are setting up a couple new sub forums this week and wondering if there is any interest in an area dedicated to chat about machining as a hobby as it relates to making locks, making cutaways, and other related projects.

Members can ask which machine to buy, first time setups, lessons learned, tips from the pros, questions from the beginners, photos of your setup, youtube videos of your latest creation.

Please vote and let us know what you think.

Thank you,

Squelchtone

I think this is a great idea. I have 2 or 3 little projects on the go that would be easy to make into teaching projects.

I have to admit that I am surprised that only 6 people have voted so far. :(

May be slow traffic. Others may have seen that the sub forum has already been created.
