Whats the best pick? what are the picks used for?

In your opinion what is the best pick or your favroite?


And... what are the picks used for like (all around pick or best for all american locks) and stuff like that

Long Hook Pick

Large Half Diamond Pick

Small Diamond Pick

Double Ball Pick

Single Ball Pick

Short Hook

Snake Rake Pick

Short Jag Pick

Long Jag Pick

Jag Snake Pick

This would have been easier as a poll... and I think it's been done before. But... I'm a hook man myself. Which hook depends on the lock.

Small Diamond Pick,Short Hook,Snake Rake Pick

sanke first then may have to set last pin with dimond or hook

Peterson short hook on anything it fits easily into, Peterson diamond on keyways that are just a little comfortable with the hook, and the HPC diamond on smaller keyways and padlocks.

I'll second that one! I ususally try at it with the diamond first, go to the hook. The snake rake is mostly used for wafer / disc tumblers [cheap locks]. ~Grit.

mine be a half-diamond... only pick ive got :oops: .... but it wont last too long before ive got a c500 :D :D :D

I have to say half circle picks. they run smother on the pins and feel better in my hand as I rake and just pick pins individually.
