does anyone know roughly how much it cost to start up a locksmith business in the way of tools, liability and such? any info would be helpful.

ahhh i asked too soon. i found my answer just browsing the forum. but a question i didnt see is perhaps a list of required tools or recomended tools one would need to begin a lockout type of business for both residential and auto.....maybe even some light commercial.

There is a thread I saw once that talked about important tools a smith needs. I think it was by Varj. Search, or maybe someone else will come after me who knows what I'm talking about.


Maybe in the FAQ's?

Someone in your position has all the questions asked elsewhere, you need to fill out your profile if asking such questions though as it is area dependant,

If in the uk i think it was toomush that posted a list and if in the usa i think it was Varjeal as already said.

Search and thee will find.

uhh welcome to lp101!
and probobly not to cheep to set up a lockpicking busness...
building rent(alot)
key coppier (600-2000+)
blank keys for coppieing
bypass tools and so on(not that expensive)
and thats pritty much it...
*busy reducing the height of my sig.*
