Why are some people so %$^$ weird?

Well i can get from one end of my towns limits to the other in around 2 mins on a bad day and 30 secs at night :lol:

so its not a myther, 99% of my work is from word of mouth, so it does me good being a good boy now and again, the money i would have got is saved by not paying for any advertiseing, im not in any phone books nor am i even in the local papers at the moment and i still make a decent wage from it all, im a happy bunny 99% of the time and thats worth its weight in gold as far as im concerned,

Now if im called out late at night by a piss head because he cant get his key in the lock that will be a differant story :twisted:

But going back to the previous post about little old ladies, p**s head's etc, i find a little niggly problem with most of them!
I've had old people tell me that the council with get them in for free, although there home is private. Drunks that say if i knew it was that much they would have kicked the door in even though the cost's involved was quoted & accepted beforehand!
The best people i find are the middle aged, never complain, pay immediately mother's with a couple of kid's by there side, although i also find it very hard taking the money from them!
I'm getting at least one call a day from developer's, bottom end bread & butter money but no nosense fun stuff! Just wish i had more calls from them!

I was doing a card drop the other night, and the first door I went to, the old lady said "Oh no"! So I said, "I'm a locksmith, and it might be useful" and she said "This is sheltered accomodation, we have more locks than we know what to do with, or want!"!

We walked further down the street for the rest of the drop...

Im getting more and more work from the local councils (parish etc) instead of useing their own people!!! Im cheaper, im quicker and im polite and freindly.

I had a call a while ago, where the "snib" got pushed down, got there took his key and opened the other door which was 5 feet away.

I got a new one for y'all...

Last night i'm up doing my laundry. I walk downstairs to switch loads. I suddenly hear my cell phone ringing. I run back upstairs, just in time for the person to hang up... I try calling the number back and get a FAX machine.

30ish minutes later, I go back downstairs to check on laundry. Guess what? Phones rings again. I know, should've learned the first time :roll:

I try calling back, and get ahold of someone that thing i'm a cab service...

At 1:30ish am, I go downstairs to remove my last load (yes, I have weird hours...), BUT this time I take the phone! Sure as snot, it rings. Same # as the previous times. Guy asks if I can take him somewhere. I tell him i'm not a bad, i'm a locksmith...

I should've said, "sure, where ya wanna go? $45 for me to show up, $2.50 a mile..." Who knows, I might've made some $$?

The commonest one I get, and I'm sure everyone else does too, is "You should be a burglar"! I swear, I've had perhaps two lockout customers who haven't said that within ten minutes of me being there.

So so true,
'wow that was fast (after a car entry) can we go get a car i like later'
'do you do safes? the bank has one and we can split the takings'
'your not going to come back and do this again when im out are you?'

And then once when i was chatting to the girl next door someone walked past and upon seeing my van shouted, 'locksmith eh? its bad having one of those next door lol lol' i shouted back 'no it isnt, she gets free service, youll have to pay'. On another day she offered me a free service but thats another story :lol:

I think everyone asks me "did you go to school for this?" Maybe I will start tell them I picked it up in prison while serving time for robbing houses or stealing cars depending on what Iam working on.

You know what I hate is when you are having a bit of trouble opening a house or making keys for a car and they say"a thief would already be done and gone."

also, alot of "Do you do safes?"

Doing a lockout...customer says I'd like to make $40 for a minutes worth of work. I tell them so would I. Then explain tool costs, expenses, and drive time.

Every person that asks me, "Did you go to school for this?" usually gets the answer, "No, I have to do this as part of my community service..."

The response I usually get when i'm having a bit of trouble is, "they got in quicker in the movies...", to which I reply, "in the movies, the door is unlocked... makes it a heck of a lot easier"
