Can elec gun pick high/low pin config easily?

Postby Truck » 7 Jan 2004 3:18

Hi:
I want to get a pick gun or even a electric one. I know how to manual pick a lock but picking a high/low pin rekeyed lock isn't easy. And less success on raking the high/low config lock. Willl the elect pick gun open it piece of cake?

Anyway, I do not want to waste money and made a wrong decision again. I have made a wrong decision for buying the South Ord picks set. All of the tips are too wide. I prefer LAB PICKS or FALLE-SAFE PICKS but I do NOT know where I can get the LAB picks. I keep searching without hope. Getting a Falle-Safe pick is zero percent unless I am willing to pay double.
I wonder if the South Ord slim set will solve the problem? That is, not to disturb other pins when I pick them individually.

Try Steve's Gun Room. However, do keep in mind Southern Ordnance picks work just fine for a lot of people, myself included.

I have a question: how do you know you prefer Lab and Falle-Safe picks if you don't have any?

Google for it. Steve gun room, it should be the first link.

I don't vouch for them, because I've never ordered. I know people who have, though.

http://www.gun-room.com/locksmithingtools1.html

Is this the one? If it is I can't seem to find the LAB picks on there. If that is the wrong site, do you think you could post a link to the site you are talking about?

Thanks

Yeah, that's the one. Looks like they don't sell them anymore -- I'm pretty sure they used to. Might be worth calling 'em up or e-mailing. Unfortunately I'm out of touch with the person who bought LAB picks from them, so I can't verify.

Salzi684, if you're having real problems with disturbing the pins look at buying a set of Peterson picks they have a very nice hook called the Peterson Reach. It works very well from the bottom of the keyway and you can bend and flex it in any direction to get around some of the more restrictive wardsImage

Peterson sets are available at:http://www.lockpicks.com/product.asp?0=204&1=224&3=256

I have allready got the peterson set, I've just been wanting to try a set of LAB picks for some time now and can't seem to find a distributor. I talked to the CEO of lockpicks.com last night and he told me he would be talking to LAB on monday and would let me know then.
