hey guys i just got to canada on a trip and i came to open one of my suitcases and i realized that i forgot the combination. i tried everything i could think of and i still didnt come up with it. it is a relatively old cosmetics hardshell samsonite suit case and it has 3 dials to put in your combination. i was wondering if anybody knew about any type of mathematics equation of some sort or anyway to get to get it open.

thanks charles

right the super -secret methord is this:

000,
001
002
003
004
.
.
.
999
do you see whwer I'm going with this?

try all the combos and it will open... it shouldn't take less than 10 minutes.

it's not worth getting more technical for what you want to use it for...

hope this helps :P

Well illusion, that's certaintly one way to go about it. :P

I beleive master combination locks (as well as quite a few others), do have "formulas" they so even though there's 40 different numbers or whatever on the dial, there is still only a certain amount of combinations they set at the factory. Which is why this guy's theory about some mathamatical equation isn't to far off base

for a 3 dial lock like he's describing, there's two methods to go about it. One can easily be demonstrated... but I'm not to sure how to go about explaining it. Search around this site for a "Sesamee Decoder" or sesamee locks and you'll probably find more information about it.

I'd just go for the trying all possible combinations at this point. or get a good pair of wire cutters and snip the thing off, being a suitcase lock, can't be that tough.

Just be sure to stop after you do that 1000 times (or when you get the opening combination - either way is good) or otherwise it will take a bit longer than 10 minutes....

it really is just a matter of brute-forcing the combination...

on a 4 combo one I might bother decoding it... but a 3 combo is just stupid to bother decoding really....

I prefer to spice things up a bit by brute forcing using numbers from the Fibonacci Sequence, then rolling over to multiples of prime numbers... but I guess if you're in a hurry the 000,001,002... method will work. :)

Db, if you want to brute force a samsonite, just take it to the airport and let the baggage handlers take care of it
