Master Padlock

Has anybody seen this master padlock before i was told that this model was discontinued a long time ago. Also has anybody been able to pick it ? If you have seen it. I have not tried picking it yet actually just found it today :D so now i am gonna give it a shot, looks like it will be difficult since there is little room for a pick to go in since the pins are sidways.

Its very much like a DOM IX lock with the pin positioning, I would take a guess that you would need some different picks to pick it with, normal picks probably won't fit too easily, if at all.

I did a bit of searching and found a post I rememebered, it might help you out. It pretty much says all that I know about the locks, hopefully it will be enough to get you started and on your way until a pro turns up ;)

anyways, its a dimple lock that is designed to be shim resistant.

That is a pretty old design. I was looking through the patent office today and saw that same key, it was from 1977. I was pretty surprised when I saw it because I didn't know they made a dimple lock. The other day I saw a really old lever padlock made by master lock. I didn't know they made those either. I guess ya learn something new every day. :D :D

Well i am pretty sure it got discontinued, but again i am not positive. I bought this lock about 8 or 9 years ago(so it is an old design) and was told that it was discontinued because nobody could cut the keys besides master and they had no system setup for customers to send keys in. Like webidiot2 said i have never seen a lock like this from master before that is why i picked this one up.

Thanks for that link, i am gonna try and make up some of those picks one of these days and see if i can get this thing opened up.
