I cannot for the life of me pop the cylinder out. Now.. I dont have the tool, been trying a flathead screwdriver, as I just bought a replacement lock today. This may be the whole problem, but theres nothing special looking about their tool judging from the diagram. Since the key spins freely (only after the key has been put in) and the tab piece is broken off on the backside, this may be contributing. Any idea would be great! thanks!
The tool is needed to release the two side spring clips for the core.(see picture #8 in the PDF) You have to depress both springs at the same time to get it to come out. If you have an old screwdriver you could grind the center of it to look like the tool.
