How good are computer generated picks?

Postby Chronos » 1 Feb 2006 21:12

Hello, I was considering buying either these:

http://www.lockpicks.com/index.asp?Page ... &ProdID=32

or these

http://www.lockpicks.com/index.asp?Page ... ProdID=390

And my question is are they even worth buying? Also, in your opinion, which is better?

There has already been a post between these, Depends what you wanna use them for the computer generated are to lift the pins to the shear line. and well the other are for ofcourse raking and jiggling as it says but I guess you could use both for w/e reason, there just designed to work better as something. IMHO.. But up to you all in all i would read the other thread with alot more posts :)
My stupid site went down so no sig :(

You could make these picks for practically nothing. Just search the site for templates of computer generated picks, get some wiper blade inserts, and grind them out.

I woulndt be so sure about that. If the computer generated picks work as they are designed, It would be very hard to duplicate the same results becasue the tolorances seem to be pretty tight. on the other hand, homemade ones may work just fine becasue the computer was wrong :)

Maybe I'm just lucky, but the ones I have made seem to work pretty well. Being a hobbyist, I wouldn't have invested in a commercial set anyway so I figured I wouldn't be out anything if they didn't work.

Well, I received my set of HPC Comp generated picks today from Omikron, and I gotta say, I'm liking them. I've only tried them on a couple kwiksets, but without any practice with this method I picked each in under a minute. With some practice I am thinking these will be pretty effective.

comp generated picks

i made a set out of 0.05mm feeler guages, they work really well on most locks, but are not much use on tight keyways(zone etc),so always keep the good old slimline hook standing by.
there's no such thing as gravity. The earth SUCKS!!
