is it just me or does every site that offers lock picks or locksmith tools say that to order you have to be a bonified locksmith cop firefighter ect. So how are pple who just want to do it for a hoby get started i got a set but my frineds dad had to order it Just wondering if there were any sites that allwoed that.

The site's sponsor www.lockpickshop.com does not require you to be a locksmith - bonafide or otherwise.

I think www.lockpicks.com does not require you to be a locksmith either, but I'm not 100% certain.

I live in the UK and bought mine through www.locksmith-tools.co.uk.

most states don't even have anything to make you a "bonifide" locksmith, in terms of a liscense or anything... so alot of it is just beleiving what people claim.

some sites require that you have a membership in a national locksmithing association, and possibly a business liscense (not locksmith liscense, but a registered locksmith business). when you get to these sites though you normally arn't dealing with normal lockpicks anymore, so that's nothing to worry about.

the sponser of this site doesnt require any of that, and niether do most other sites you'll see linked from here.

are you talking about peterson international? They have that on their front page, but im pretty sure its just to cover their a**. I just bought some picks from them, and im not a lockie.
