For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Hey, no-one's saying it IS pickproof. That's just the name of the lock!

Yep, I asked him what exactly made it pick proof and that is exactly what he told me.

If you examine the key carefully, you will see that the distances between cuts are enormous for a key. You would need really large hooks.

Other than that it would be quite easy I think, no wardings at all. And I don't expect any security pins in such an old lock.

I don't think you'll find any pins at all! This is probably a lever lock, or at a pinch could be a warded lock but in that case the lock name would be even more suspect.

:( Of sorry, the board's gone into 'Pretend that the first post didn't work' mode. If a mod cares to trim it'd be nice...

I'm not really that egotistical, honest! :)
