No pins, just discs. You won't be picking it without the help of some highly specialized tools. To the best of my knowledge, I don't know any company who sells these tools to locksmiths. The only company that has a tool you can purchase and MIGHT work is newsparkling.com.sg.

Yes and no. It may be hard to pick, but it doesn't mean some basic bolt cutters can't chew through it like butter. Or perhaps just a few minutes with a portable dremel and a cutoff wheel. :-P

You want a mean bike lock? I use this: http://www.masterlockbike.com/masterloc ... streetcuff

If you get it, make sure you fill out the application for the $3,500 anti-theft guarantee. It's one of the best I've seen.

Jason: Fortunately, the lock shown looks to be an Abloy-type rotating disc lock, not a tubular lock as is common (or used to be common) on bicycle locks. These have no easy way to pick.

Omi: Show some class.

No vector40, you're right. I've been sick for several days now and I'm a bit on edge.

Sorry Jason.

I tried searching, and couldnt find anything on that type of lock. Is the plate on the front mounted in such a way that it swivels with a tension wrench (like the covers on some warded locks)? That lock looks very intresting...

Are you asking about the silver "plate" or the inner brass "plate"? The outer circle is actually just part of the lock body, while the inner brass "plate" you see is really just the first disc in the lock. The design is just a chinese knockoff of the Abloy rotating discs and I have a few of these laying around my house. They are an extremely difficult if not impossible pick w/out the proper tools, but most of them are made of inferior metal and can be sheared with bolt cutters quite simply.

If you're curious, your local bike shop might have them around for about $10USD or so.
