electric pick tips please

electric pick tips please

can anyone please give me some tips on how to use this electric pick gun, it is way harder than you thing, this thing cost me like 120 dollars and i cannot open a thing with it

They do take a surprising amount of practice. I was amazed at how unreliable the Wendt electropick was in my untrained hands (compared to picking) when I tried it at What the Hack 2005.

Try adjusting the tension. Different locks require different tension. I only use my electric pick as a last result before drilling. I prefer to hand pick but when its 2am and -12F I prefer the quickest route.

Start out at the lowest gun setting. Try for a few seconds with light tension, then move to medium, and finally heavy tension. If that doesn't work, increase the gun setting slightly. Repeat until lock opens. It can help to move the pick itself in a small figure 8 pattern.
