How many depths of cut?

Postby greyman » 19 Dec 2005 12:32

I need some help on depths of cut please :?

How many depths of cut (sizes of pin, wafer, lever etc) are used in the following locks?

1. Taiwanese Aba Pagoda wafer lock

2. modern Bramah 7-slider lock

3. Assa Desmo

4. Sargent \& Greenleaf 6805 (series) 7-lever key changeable lock

Bramah

A Single Bramah mechanism used in a C17 Rim Cylinder has a barrel with 7 sliders, 6 of which have 8 cuts and two of which have 2. A Bramah mortice deadlock operated by key on both sides has 14 sliders, two barrels and keys to each side can be different. :D

Bramah

Postby greyman » 16 Mar 2006 9:59

Greetings Jeremy :) and welcome to the group. There isn't that much Bramah info on LP 101 so your contribution is very welcome. I will take a wild guess that you are a descendant of Jospeh Bramah??? If so, is Bramah offering any more challenges in their shopfront in London? It's certainly been a while since the last one!

Speculation

Postby Joseph » 16 Mar 2006 10:56

With so much speculation discussed, we need to keep the facts straight. As for challenges, stick to the ones with 21 year obselescence built in and you will have much more fun. :D
