does anyone know of a house hold item that can be quickly turned into a tension wrench without an extreme makeover on the item no screwdrivers

Search the site for one.

Windscreen wiper blades (windsheild) have a metal part in them that once removed make stunning wrenches,

Follow where a street cleaner has been and you may find the odd steel bristle laying on the floor, check around curb stones and railings etc where you would imagine the bristle to be pulled out more, they also make quite good wrenches,

Some make shift ones have been made from the metal clips that are on pens or a bicycle spoke hammered flat at the end and bent over can be used, old eye glasses or head phone bands have also recently been reported as working well,

Personally if making them i would stick with the wiper inserts, you get 2 bits of metal per wiper and you will get around 3 from each insert i think,

Have a look around, if its metal, can be bent, is springy a little, safe to retrieve etc then you can probably use it, experiment.

Not really anything but if your lucky and find a fork which is already thin enough to be inserted into the keyhole you coudl use that, i wouldnt use this my self cause i dont need to.

I would say if you had a fork lying somewere and there wasnt anything else it would be best for a wrench

Well ok i admit if your desparate but to be honest i dont leave my cutlery out in the garden that often and i would rather remove the insert from my van windscreen wiper, saying that i could just go in the van and get my picks out anyway

Or your picks are in the van and the van is locked, all the wiperblades are of from getting them of after you got locked out of your own house.

Idea get a few of a other guys car ( neighbours car ) leave a £10 under there wiperblade like a policeman does with a ticket
