The right tools for me

Postby Xile » 25 Mar 2006 6:10

I live in australia, im not sure exactly how big our locks are but i was wondering whether to go for the slimline (http://www.lockpickshop.com/page/LPS/PROD/LS/C1510) set or the american lock pick set (http://www.lockpickshop.com/Merchant2/m ... ry_Code=LS)
if the locks here were as big as the ones in america would it hurt buying the slimmer set? if yes then which set should i go for, again im not sure how locks in australia compare to american or european locks.

Go with the Euro sized - they're much more effective when it comes to gnarly keyways... They're thinner so be gentle!

Don't bother getting the slim line picks, there is no point as fitting the standard sizes in the most evil broach is fairly easy to do.

Assuming you will be picking the standard lockwood locks of course.

Trust me, unless you are going to be picking restricted cylinders (which as a newbie, i wouldn't recommend) Standard is the way to go.

I second skold, i am not new i have a few month under my belt not alot but enough to know the locks in your skill level will only require the standard SO's.

I eat my shorts!

Either way, practice practice practice - no matter how thin your picks are, they won't help you if you don't spend alot of time.

slimline can be used where american standard picks could be used, but not always the otherway round.
