Easier said than done. I applied for one of those wonderful schools, but the application was like 2 days late, I was 2nd on the waiting list to get in, and they never called me to say if I was in or not, and at the time I didn't have a contact in the school who could get me in. That and they were phasing out metal shop :( which I REALLY wanted to take.. they couldn't find a teacher for it. So now I'm stuck @ a reject school.. about 30 students, all pot heads, alcoholics, and all on probation or are ex-cons. -- No, I'm NOT exagerating. This public school program is in a community lifeworks center, mainly housing single/teenage mothers and drug addicts and people of the like.. so you can understand how I wake my ass up every morning @ 14 minutes to 7, just eager to get to school every day. :?
comin soon

Colleges are usually places of "further education". In the UK you can leave school at 16 when you take your GCSE exams (used to be called "O" levels) or stay and do your "A" level certificates when you leave at 18.

If like me you left at 16 you can go to college to study for your "A" levels or vocational exams (NVQs. BTECs) as a "mature student". You can use these as access to a university where you can study for your degree - Bachelors (BA or BSc), Masters (MA or MSc) and so on.
sledgehammers make excellent back up picks!
