Picking, bumping, snap-guns, electro picks, sputnik picks, decoders, comb picks, shimming, impressioning, foil impressioning... these leave the lock functional, if not a little worn when using snap guns and electro picks. These are all NDE.
Destructive entry involves things like: cuttting the shackles of padlocks, drilling the sheer line, snapping Euro cylinders... the list goes on really... but these are desctructive entry methords.

pippy,
search the forum here for posts on materials that make good picks.
I'll direct you to a couple:

If you're just learning, making some simple picks from automotive windshield wiper blade inserts( 2 thin strips of metal) will work real good and can be picked up for free at most salvage yards.

I know exactly what kind of blades you have in mind. There is quite a lot of force needed to make that metal bend so far as to not be able to return naturally to it's shape. If you make picks out of those, they will work well, as you will(should) never use that much force on a pick anyway. I have a set made out of those, and a diamond from this set is a favorite among my picks. Try it and you should be happy with the outcome.

"she could open doors with just a smile," of course it helps if a teenage boy answers the door, not his mom.

There's still a very nice set for sale in the buy/sell section. $22 shipped to anywhere in the US. I recommend updating your profile with some location information so we know where you're coming from.
