Yup, and you already found the thread that describes the procedure. one more thing, if it is a double-cylinder you will have a hard time if you don't have the proper tools because you have to push the plug follower in through the opening of the coupling/cam hole.
If it is just for picking, you should cut the double-cylinder in half (right where the crew is). Quickly done, and this way you have more space to work with a plug follower. Another note, a micro-Maglite (the one that takes one AAA-Battery makes a great follower AND it has lighting to help you see what you do in the plug channel.
