How much of the lock is sticking out? If there is enough to get a small grip on you could always try needle-nose plyers. If that doesn't work, see if you can go to your nieghborhood office supply store an look for a pen with a thin metal clip thing and take that off the pen. Then shape it in an "L" shape and file it down a bit till it fits in the key hole underneath the broken key and turn like you would normally with a key. After that you could try extracting the key with a fish-hook, sewing needle, or anything that would catch the key and sink in or grab-on. If this doesn't work you could always call a locksmith and they usually have all sorts of methods for removing broken keys.
