Master 140 is quite easy to 'pick' by overlifting the pins, it does have spool pins making raking more tricky. I have picked locks like yours which only have 3 pins. Should not be to hard.

I have some Craftsman locks that look just like that, same keyway, also made in Germany. They might even be the same, but have a different label slapped on there.

Mine have 4 pins, and contain spools. The keyway is a bit tight, so you may have to look around for a torque wrench that fits somewhere in the keyway without interfering with picking.

Generally, I only pin-by-pin pick locks with security pins. Raking is somewhat crude and won't always work with security pins, but you can often get away with raking on cheap padlocks like this.

Isnt it dangerous to take the casing of a battery and flatten it out and make a shim?

yeah...im pretty sure squeezing and cutting a battery can/will end bad for at least 4 out of every 5 people who try it....it just sounds too...early 80's rock and roll acid trip to me.

"yeah man...just squeeze and cut and lick it..."
"yeah...ok...WHOOOOOOOOOA"
"i know! its like WHOOOOOOOOOOA"

perhaps the squeezing and cutting is dampering your ability to pick?

just a thought. no harm meant- so everyone is clear.

made in germany? I woulda thought made in china, but anyway, its a common pin tumbler with probably some security pins in it, you can pick it. use your slimmest shaft picks, and pick as against spools, try reverse picking, and be sensitive that some small movement may indicate its is picked and the the tensor needs an assist, look carefully at the part of the cylinder wall visible in the plug to see if you haven't eroded a groove already, if you have, put something that will roll, a piece of round hardend wire big enough to fill the space at the bottom of the key way there, and use some oil on it, oil is the key when a lock is being hard to pick because of security pins.
