two part question(s)

1) is it just me, or does it seem like spool pins dont do much? ive got a lock with 5pins, and spools, two of them and after removing the last pinstack (for practice) it seems like picking it is TOO easy. did i mess something up here?

2) what is the difference in width of a regular southord pick and a slimline SO pick? is it really worth the extra money to ge the same pickset, but slimline if im living in the states?

If it's easy how could you be doing it wrong? It could just be the lock you have (ie; shot springs, pins too small for the lock...ect)

Slimline are slimmer excellent for restrictive keyways and most anything from overseas. So are they worth the extra $$$, depends if you think you'll be confronting any locks of a slim nature. On the other hand you can use slimline on both slim and non-slim locks vs non-slim picks rarely if ever fit in small or restrictive keyways.
It comes down to the usere and his/her needs
