Combination locks (4 digits) with wheels in front

Postby Existenz » 21 Jul 2006 20:13

i've got a little problem with opening combination locks with 4 digits
i found this lock at a construction site where i was working
its a nice lock so i dont want to destroy it to see the inside
and there has to be a better way than trying all the 10000 possible combinations

ive found a topic about this
viewtopic.php?t=13378&highlight=numbers

but this is a little different
instead of having the wheels on the bottom or on the site
they have the locks in front

heres a little drawing
(cam doesnt work so this is the best i could do)
Image

so now i was wondering if i could open this type of lock the same way as the one in the post mentioned earlier
there was a little movie there

You need to use a seasame method on that one, the way i did it on that video (there was no need to repost a link for it after posting the thread link),

A brief guide is here http://www.geocities.com/masterunlocked ... heel2.html as was posted on that same thread my video was on,

The other way is to pull on the shackle and turn the dials gently until they feel looser or otherwise diferant,

You say you found this lock? i take it you didnt find it anywhere near somthing thats usualy locked up with such a lock or that you found it on somthing but it wasnt locked so you took it?

I also assume you asked around first if it was anyones?

ty for your reply

as i already said it was in a construction site
(i work in construction)

was in an building we had to renew
it was there
along with loads of crap like jars, tyres, old machines and stuff
we had to break everything down to begin with
so why should i ask if its anyones if i was assigned to throw everything away... :)
