ok guys, i got a padlock such as the one lockedin said to get, and im having trouble. i tried searching for this, but i cant seem to find a case like mine. what happens is i pick the first three pins pretty easily, then when it comes to the fourth pin it gets jammed, and i need to let loose on the tension to pick it. the problem is that when i let off the tension and push the pin up, it lets all the other pins down... and i cant get any of the others to bind. i am very confused and i cant figure out why it is happening

are you picking them from front to back? or in any particular order?
the reason i ask is- the method ive found to work best for me, is to apply light tension, and go pin by pin, barely touching each pin, to see the resistance on each. when i find the one that seems to have the most resistance, i pick it first, and do the same method for the rest of the pins.
if you are getting three to pick, and then the last is binding so that you ahve to release tension in order to pick it- so that the other pins dropped- then this is indicating to me that this pin is not the last one that should be picked- it should bind before another one of your pins.
not sure if that was very clear or not

with only 11 posts, that was exceptionally well said. bravo.
if it sounds a bit confusing the first time you read it, go back through it again, but slower. pay close attention to the words and try to visualize what is being said. thats what i did. (although i already had a similar answer ready to post, he hit it on the head though)

im picking it from front to back, because thats the way i find taht they bind, ill try to see i can get the front one first, then use a long hook to get the back one (the one that is sticking) because the second has a real shallow cut. thanks for your help guys.
