Shops selling bump keys- and similar

I know the method of bumping is interesting to some people-
and have read questions posted by people as to where they can get them, and responses as to the troubles some people have trying to-
either shops that wont sell them, or lock techs here saying how they will not sell them-

I was wondering, what your opinion is on cylinders specifically requested with less than the normal amount of pins?

If you work in a shop, or have opinion if you were to-
would you sell to a customer who requests a cylinder with only two pin chambers with pins? (or any specific amount less than 5/6/7-whatever is standard for the particular cylinder).

I hadn't really considered it before.

I know I basically confirmed one customers knowledge regarding impressioning- and turned out to be quite an annoyance over all.. considering turns out he lied- was not his lock to be impressioning- and would not stop calling with his woes...
anyways, makes me more cautious about sharing the specifics of most methods used by locksmiths with customers.

Specifically for pinning, I would just recommend the customer remove the pins themself. It's easy to do and good experience. If they are truly incapable of doing this, they are incapable of picking locks in any serious capacity. Personally, I'd reinforce this with a simple statement that I'd have to charge them for repining like any other customer.

Don't think I'd want to teach a customer how to impression either. It'd be one thing if they were my friend, but another if someone quite randomly asked for help.

yeah...most lockies get all suspicious of anyone who asks them anything on a technical level i have found. like even mention anything showing that you have any knowledge of picking/pinning/locksmith stuff and they shut up real tight and want you out.

on the other hand, there was a lockie repinning and repairing all the exterior locks at my school once and i talked with him all class period instead of doing any work, he was real cool.

when i first approached a locksmith. i made sure he had no costumers in the store. when i started asking he calmed up. i just kept talking about the hobby and made sure i used the correct terminology which was hard for me :) i didn't stop talking. i told him about LP 101 what my intension's where and that i felt funny asking and that i waited till there where no costumers around. after i talked his ear off he opened up and was glad to help me.
