Used mine today on a digital safe with flat batteries. Overide lock was a standard tubular, but the keys had been lost ages ago.
Easy money!
Now after a key. Local cutters have a machine, (zephyr) but the pick wouldn't go on far enough. Anyone know of another machine that I might be able to get a key cut from the pick?

If you don't do a lot of them.. a set of space and depth keys might work well with a dupilicator.
There is a SWEET little hand held machine called a "hurdy gurdy" that only code cuts.
I will post a pic when I get a chance

Learning to pick or learnign to pick tubular locks?
If learning to pick dont start on tubular locks,
If you are learning to pick tubular locks dont buy a tubular pick, hobby/sport picking is about the achiement that a tubular lockpick doesnt give you,

Dont start on tubular locks then, get yourself a simple cylinder like a standard yale and go from there,

Thanks shrub - yeah i already looked at his post, really good stuff, ive been messing around with pin locks for about 2 weeks now and changed all the pins around etc etc. Stuck on a 2 spool yale at the mo (picked it with 1 spool in)
So i was just thinking of trying some other stuff, like tubulars, wafers, mortice/sash locks and maybe euro locks, but yeah being new to picking, its difficult to know what you should try and what will just frustrate you to death!
Maybe il stick with the pin tumblers for now then (probably try a cheeky mortice lock - a very basic one.....)
Going back to my original question - does eveyone agree that i shouldnt go out and buy the commercial picks(specific tubular pick and 2 in 1 etc etc etc) but try and learn to pick on my own first?
Am i ruining this thread? sorry!
