few quastions about combination locks

Postby yno » 8 Nov 2006 6:02

i opend an old combintaion lock (a masterlock) to see whot it looks from the inside.
i examined this look for almost a week and i searched for ways to crack this kind of locks, but all i found was a way to find the last number by feeling but nothing more.
i cant find any way to find the 2 other numbers.
so before i continue to search for ways to crack the lcok, i need to know if it is possible to crack the lock just by feeling...so what do you say?
i am not asking for any ways, i want to find the way by myself.
do you think it is possible or the way is too complicated?
mmmm.....i saw that near every slot on the weels there is a bump (i think that you call it fly) and i thought that mabye it is possile to find the solt using the little bump. do i am in the right direction?

or use that external link (via google, hope it works)
Have a long, ugly URL that will break in emails or IMs? Make it a short url!

i think i've got a table of values in my comp somewhere that calculates the possibilities of the first and second numbers using the third number of master combo locks. If you want it just pm me and i'll send it to ya.

yeah. i have written values right in front of me.
Code: Select all

zero list   0 4 8 12 16 20 24 28 32 36
            2 6 10 14 18 22 26 30 34 38

ones list   1 5 9 13 17 21 25 29 33 37
            3 7 11 15 19 23 27 31 35 39

twos list   2 6 10 14 18 22 26 30 34 38
            0 4 8 12 16 20 24 28 32 36

threes list   3 7 11 15 19 23 27 31 35 39
              1 5 9 13 17 21 25 29 33 37

there. find your last digit and then divide by 4. whatever the remainder is, use that list. first row is first digit, second row is second digit. and you already know your last digit.
