Search-Fu

Postby d_goldsmith » 8 Nov 2006 16:16

I'm trying to learn tips and tricks about searching, but my search-fu is week. I searched for "search" and "how to search" and didn't find anything on the first 3 pages.

I also recall reading someone mention that they had used a detailed/advanced search. I don't remember what they called it, but I can't find any options on the search page other than the basics.

I was hoping I could find all of this info and then right it up to be added to the FAQ forum, but no luck, since my search-fu is week.

Anyone care to right such a FAQ?

best bet is to use a modified google search

go to the google website
type in your query followed by " site:www.lockpicking101.com "

cheers

i wrote a very nice guide to using the post options some time ago, it was rather extensive and covered every option, with only the list being unknown.

that guide didnt cover searching, however, i have not seen any other decent guides on using the site itself. and mine never got any real praise, etc. it just died in a day or so.

so try for a decent search guide, but be warned.

not that a guide on searching wouldnt help A LOT of people.

problem with a guide about searching is that in order to find it you have to know how to search... Like the "if you want to Learn how to read call 555-6565" signs.
