I've messed up a wafer lock or two before...(don't ask)

Breaking a wafer is extremely difficult, HOWEVER, bending or distorting the shape is not quite as difficult. (Though still pretty tough to do.)

Using auto jigglers in the wrong type of lock CAN potentially damage certain locks, but unless you're a complete moron and start using foreign objects for leverage, it's not likely to happen.

The thread some time ago about the guy who was picking the (VW I think) door lock and the cylinder came out had a problem that had NOTHING to do with his picking, but resulted from damage/wear to the lock retaining system.

ace1627: Your best starting point would be to purchase a Master no.3 from your local hardware store.

I'd also say no to the next one because I have a very hard time believing that that was his fault. If it was an ICore lock and he picked it to the removal line, then I'd consider that a problem, but as far as I know, there's no such thing as an ICore car lock.

I just wanted to point out that you hear more about people messing up wafers than pins. So it would seem safer to start on a pin tumbler lock.

Great thats the link I posted(VW), you must have posted while I was writing Vargeal lol what timing . Anyway ignore my last post.
