Binding sequence on Kwikset deadbolt

no it basically states that manufacturing effects it but so des wear from keys and such so it really depends lock to lock although some seem to be the same

There is no set Binding order, You push up the one that binds.

Depending on tollerences this is harder to do.

While manufacturing tolerances can influence the picking order, it is not always that simple. Unless the factory machines are so out of alignment as to always mis-drill the cylinders in the same way you will always fall back on the standard probing.

This means that other external influences affect the lock, and which pin binds first. Additionally, the use of security pins can often change this order.

The older the lock is, the more likely that it will have its own quirks as well.

Basically, you still get to feel for the proper setting order. This is always the best way to do the job.

I know that there is no set binding order. On this particular lock, binding is always the same, 3,4,2,1,5. That was what prompted my question. Wondering if the binding order would always be the same on this specific lock. I understand now that it's just the particular state of this lock at the present time. Down the road, the binding order could change based on usage and wear.

It will most likely stay the same unless there is something introduced to the lock. Dirt, broken spring, or broken key.

Beat at it with an electric pick for a while, and it will most likely change.

So, in normal circumstances it will stay the same for all intents and purposes, but never discount change.

Repinning the lock could also change the binding order
