I am new to this site and I wish to thank the owners/moderators for having me.
My interest at present is in tubular locks and I am the proud owner of a Southord TPXA-7 pick which I have found to be terrific!!
I did purchase the other (dare I say cheaper) 7 pin pick with the O rings and the thin metal tension tube that slides back and forward over the O rings. Let me tell you from experience these are a waste of money! I don't work for any dealer of lock picks but please if you are considering a 7 pin pick for the first time, start with the TPXA-7 Southord pick as your first purchase, it works great and is very easy to use on the standard 7 pin ACE type lock.
The 7 pin ACE type lock is the first (and only) tubular lock I have worked with so far as I am a beginner. I have come across other locks that I would like to ask some questions about if I may?
I have tried what I thought to be 7 pin locks, then after trying without success, and slightly damaging my pick, I noticed when I looked again at the lock, it seemed to have a smaller pin in between the first and second main pins within the lock. Is this the 8 pin lock I hear about or is this the ACE II lock? I have had no success in my search for a diagram of either an ACE II or 8 pin lock and am wondering if someone could tell me either way?
Enough typing for now, hope to hear from someone soon.
Thanks and have a good day!
