Anyone have any tips on these? I dont want to ruin and more picks...in case theres some trick to it.

I can pick it every now and then but I cant tell why it will open one time with all the pins set, and why it wont open another time with all the pins set.

I'm going to warn you that asking this question will cause you to lose all credibility in this site. Your search-fu is obviously weak, as is your research fu. Had you looked for yourself, you would have found out about security pins no problem. Now you will have to put up with condescending flames from everyone on this site, starting with me.

read the snowyboy thread on his first session of picking and get the lesson of the story, lighten up with the pick and the tension, look for the least pressure, you have the key to your lock? how much pressure is needed to turn that?That would be a guide. when you bind pins with tension, pretty soon the imovable meets the irresistable and all the force is doing is desensitizing your fingers and frustrating you. there is a point at which more tension is adding nothing to picking, and in fact is the problem.

The search engine works great. It's the massive content of the forum that makes it hard to dig through, but if you're not lazy, it's not that hard.

Well, there are a couple of good points here, so I'll start by saying that 'Goon's name is pretty awesome.

Now, with that past us, Goon is right, the search function DOES work,and with some effort you can find a lot of stuff.

Brmse also has a point, the search function is plague by the fact that its poorly programmed and because of the masive amount of information on the site.

For many new users, it can appear broken. For the old hands on here, they remember something posted by this guy, or that guy and they pop in a few key words, and seem to work magic.

All in all, I would say the best thing for any new member is simply to hang out for a while and read, and then to tackle the search function.

Alternatively, you can use the google search and restrict it to the LP101 site. Amazing what that thing comes up with.

For a long time LP101 was the top listing for mazola and thermite. Not a great claim to fame, but thats what Google gets you sometimes.
