Ghost in my locks?

Postby darrel.h » 24 Nov 2006 17:39

I recently obtained a few sesamee locks and I changed the combination. I locked it and double checked it. The next day, I spun the correct numbers but it didn't open. I tried 1 number lower and higher and it didn't work. I decided that it could be used as a puzzle. I started at 0000, 0001 and I kept at it until 1313! I had never set the digits as that because I regard 13 as a bad luck number. The numbers have changed on me before on the other sesamee locks. Anyone ever encounter this problem?
If all fails, use nitroglycerine.

are you sure you changed the combo?
try the origimal again
if not mayby somthing on the inside broke
if all else fails there is a way to decode it somewhere on this site

The only problem I had with strange combos was with a luggage lock. The number wheel had somehow come loose off the axle and was spinning more or less freely

ummm... my thoughts:

you set it backwards- instead of 1234, whatever numbers were on the opposite side were set.

you didnt do something and so when you spun the wheels to numbers then they clicked into place. (although for it to spin to 1313 by coincidence is bizarre)

someone is messing with you.

personally, id say my first thoughts.

good luck. and you might consider getting a lock exorcist.

Go to a church and throw the lock in a basin of holywater.

If it steams and bubbles, you need a pixorcist. If it screams, just call a priest and walk carefully away from the basin.

Whatever you do, don't
  • Walk under a Ladder
  • Go near black Cats
  • break a Mirror

And carry around a chunk of Oak, so you can knock on wood if you have too.
Place it in a box with a cross engraved on each side, place it on the alter at a church for 42 hours, then burn the box.
Oh, and don't drive anywhere.
Cheers!

The change feature was probably stuck in. It happens a lot on cheap combination padlocks.
