Is that all the lock looked like? I would think that there would be some type of protrusion on the inner circle that the key would catch onto.

You'd think there would have to be. As soon as he said he couldn't figure out a way to tension it, I was thinking, how does the key tension it?

Thats what was confusing me! I think there may have been some protrusions on the hull where I show the pins, and maybe the whole thing turns and the center is just a guide for the key. I think there may have been a couple of places for the key to grip that looked like the pins. I knew I should have taken a picture!

I think I know which lock you mean. The center post is silver, surrounded by a dark material (plastic?), and the pins look like they are more of an electrical contact than actual pins? - when you look in, you can see the sides of the pins also?

Heck, for all I know it MAY be electronic.

Ummm, Yes on the part about looking in and seeing the pins, and the center post is silver, cant say for sure about the rest. It looked to me that the pins just pushed down like any other lock. If you come across a picture of what your speaking of please post it. I'll know as soon as i see it.
