Stops ppl nicking the car when its in there. ive seen ppl put chains across as well.

PPL get bitchy if people park in front of a drive way or in there normal spot on the road. if u just parked ur car in some ones drive u would probably come back to it just pushed in to the road or damaged in some way if u did it more than once.

Ive never seen any one do it or herd of some on have a stranger park in there drive way. and trust me its something people would bleat on about if it happened.

Fair enough parking is a problem, and ive seen ppl park in some strange places but no one parks in other peoples drive ways.

Well, as far as I'm aware, the bollards are installed just behind the drive's entrance, and not on the sidewalk or street. If someone parks in front of your house, there's not much you can do unless you parked there first. You can't erect any device on city property (the road) to detour parking.

oh yes i agree. my point was that people get wound up enough if people park in front of a drive way, and thats fround upon. not that the bollards stop this. people simply dont just park on peoples drives

Bollards must go on private property. but to be honest its rare u see them on a house. its quite rare u find them at all really. but if they are on a drive way its to stop people taking the car. you do find them on businesses on occasion but the only time u see them a lot are on council owned things

All good points. And as I don't live there, I really can't say. I don't see people parking in other's driveways here, and it would raise a major stink if people did. I just swore I read on the other bollard's thread that people were parking in other's driveways. I'm mistaken.

hehe no problem. im sure things are the same there are they are here. ppl are a bit touchy about other people being on there land.

As for helping the guy that started this thread i haven't helped him at all

So dude either get a lock smith or leave it up. if u break the lock ur gonna have a big problem on your hands.

Get a lockie as said, it wont be too expensive and will be cheaper than either the damage to your car or the damage to the driveway by ripping it out,
