From my understanding, the two used to share the same company, but the partnership broke up. Southern Specialties was formed and they're at

www.lockpicktools.net to spite him. (as far as i can tell)
Anyway, SouthSpec sells picks in similar design to SouthOrd, but has put more effort into customized handles and allows you to build your own set, pick by pick. These were the first picks I bought, and I'm still happy with them today. (hint, I went with the ripple handles. and don't forget extra tension tools.)
