Looks like an old luggage lock key, the type that is simply a lock riveted to the side of a traveling wardrobe or somthing, other than that an old brief case or somthing but of the old leather flap type,

I think you should list every single item in your house so we can make a better choice :P

Cheney keys

Postby Chris B » 22 Dec 2006 3:07

Belfast Ken hope that you find this helpful.

Cheney locks and keys can be found most popularly on luggage in the UK.
C.W.CHENEY AND SON LTD to be exact, the history behind this name/make you'll find some with this link from the great gazetteer: http://www.localhistory.scit.wlv.ac.uk/ ... aa-chu.htm You can still purchase replacement keys from some of the major locksmith wholesalers within the UK. There is a ref to Cheney keys on this following website link: http://antiquekeys.net/ Just scroll down the page to see a selection. It's surprising to me that you have never heard of them, I've lost count of how many times that I've replaced keys to suitcases over the years. Using luggage secured in that style is still serviceable, just for the sake of an extra key sometimes. However, as we all know, security has been up-dated since 9/11 and luggage security especially has been thrown into the new century with the use of TSA approved locks within the flight travel industry. For further information regarding Transportation Security Administration, just do a search, you'll find loads. [padlocks, luggage straps etc]

Best regards to all for a Happy Christmas from Chris B

Do you know what this means? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? It means that someone has not been able to get their clothes out of their luggage all these years.

(I finally got to use my Doc Brown impersonation)

It actually looks suspiciously like the little lock keys they make for diaries and journals... but that could just be my opinion haha...
