I mean Don't get me wrong i think its good they are stepping up.

But perhaps a suggestion to keep the threads guts alive.

I believe personally that goverments should raise standards on locks all together.

I dont mean banning anything but grade 1's. However, its nor us or the bumpkey to blame. Its a product that company knows is now faulty in a figurative sence and is whining and trying to hide... basically whats already known.

I see only one solution, that is 1. udgrade there systems to sidebar, rotating disc, or even lever, to elevate newtons law that associates to bumping.

Or simple opt. for a grade 1 mechanism, its rather quite simple, the bills passing and inforcement will only galmorize them more, and cost tax payers money in the long run from foul ups.

And please it will not take defence attornies long to find pages of loop hools as we already found a few

With all due respect, I don't believe any "loopholes" have been found here. You have to realize that laws are interpreted by those who enforce them -- this is what is meant when you hear of following the "intent" and not the "letter" of the law. Obviously a calling a "bump key" a "smack key" does not change what it is, nor does it change what the law intends, etc.

Agreed, it's good to see that the issue is being addressed... although in an ideal (and much more effectual) world, it would be the lock manufacturers, and not lawmakers, addressing the issue. Taxpayers shouldn't have to be the ones to to pay for problems with faulty locks.
