Kwikset With 2 pick points?

Postby SemiShady » 8 Jun 2007 19:28

The key works to successfully unlock the lock. I can snap pick the lock in the wrong direction and it doesn't open obviously. Only turns about 1/4. However i just for the first time successfully hand picked it the correct way (which is counter clockwise) and it went down to about the 7 oclock (almost half a turn) possition then stopped. I tried a screwdriver even to make sure that the lock wasing sticking and just being hard on my little tension wrench. it would spin no further. I then spun it back to 12 and it locked again? It is a common kwikset deadbolt i bought from a hardware store for 10$. Could it have a release point or something. and if it did shouldn't it have locked into that possition and not spun freely back to the fully locked possition?

any ideas. Thanks. I'm gunna go play with it some more
