i would also recommend empheisizing 'good with people' and understanding mechanical/carpentry skills. Do not say I am great at picking locks but have no offical experience. Honestly what does that say.. you pick locks on your own and thats it? Sounds sketchy. Someone who picks locks for there own pleasure or hobby but doesn't really get involved in other locksmithing operations (as you said you have no official expericence) sounds to me like someone who wants to get experience with more locks and possibly more 'real world' experience with locks for his own hobby or pleasure. What this all comes down to is you want training in picking locks.. and ones that you run into in real life. No locksmith (legit at least) wants to train someone in picking locks. They know you'll never do it officially (there isn't really 'professional lock pickers'). Get the job and learn the attitudes of your co-workers/boss. Then at the right time start revealing your skill at lock manipulation. Also saying "its pretty straight forward once you understand how a lock works" sounds alot better than 'i spent hours reading online and studying how to pick locks"
