Were to buy euro cylinder components

Postby ADMIRALMSL » 10 Jul 2007 5:55

Hi this is my first so please be gentle with me.!!!

Im a lockie in hampshire and im looking at getting in to making my own master key systems. i have been to my supplier and thay have suggested union system k so that the keys are patented to me only which is a good idea, but when i asked them how much it would cost ME for the parts to make up the cylinder thay told me around £15 . I can get a euro Cylinder already keyed a like or masterd for a lot less. So my queston is do's eneyone now were i could get parts for euro cylinders from so i can make up the cylinders for less.

Tell us what you exactly want,

If you want a rtestricted keyway then the price quoted isnt a bad one,

If you simply want to sell masterkeyed locks then you need a pinning kit for the locks you want to sell,

If you want a bag of parts like shells, cams, pins, springs etc then someone else will have to answer as i start from a new working lock and rekey that if nessacary,

If the job requires multiple master keying or repin ning the price of said cylinders are so cheap theres not much cause to do it yourself and most actually buy them already done as you have said,

It also depends on what locks you want to sell, if you want to use the cheap and nasty crap then the type of person wanting masterkeying etc will not want them as it tends to be commercial reasons and they dont want shite on the doors,

If its for slum lords then simply buy them ready done its not ecconmical for you to sit there for a day rekeying locks when you could have bought them already done for a few pounds more, the customer is paying for them anyway and they would either have to pay you to do it or for locks already done, may as well save your time and any headaches and posable call backs for sticky locks,

Thanks Shrub,
It was bag of parts shells, cams etc.
As iv got a comtract to do rtestriced and non rtestricted euros which is up to 5000 a mouth that is if i can do them cheaper that £8 each for rtestricted and £4 each for non rtestricted, the thing is thay can get them just like you and me from the supplyers, but thay must get them cheaper so thay can put there bit on and sell them to you and me.
I have the rep from union coming to see me about system k next week so ill let you know what he has to say, im hopeing if i buy direct from union and cut out the middle man it mite just mite work. But with orders like this every mouth it must be worth a go.
