Riser Escutcheons help needed

Postby blade2174 » 26 Jul 2007 12:12

HI all Im looking for some escutcheons for a dry riser cupboard
i have looked through the internet and most of the main lock suppliers any ideas?
its the type that has a basic square lock so the apperture needs to be Round
any one else had trouble finding certain items in the past ?
and if so what and where did you find that item ?
all help gratefully recieved

Excuse me but im ignorant so i will need o ask you a couple of q's if you dont mind, i post because you may not get any other responce and wih to help you,

An escution to me is a cover or plate that covers the lock or face plate of a lock, i dont recal the use of the word as you have used it,

Did you mean you want a lock that is face mounted as in on the door and not on the edge of the door?

Have you tried duffels?

If you can do a sketch and post it up i can probably give you a lead otherwise im a bit mixed up as to what you are after, im not even sure what a dry riser cupboard is im sorry,

So in conclusion i offer no help and am just wasting your time, sorry,

Cheers Shub . maybe i was being a little vauge
the dry riser cupboard that i refer to has a very basic rim lock (ie a ERA 415) which is opened with a "T" key . , the escutcheon cover that it has fitted has a round apperture and a cover (being brass it has faded and some have been painted over and a few are missing throughout the building) duffels only do a flat plate style but my client has asked for a like for like replacements (Typical hey)
hope this helps some.

Wel duffels must do the locks but if the locks are fine and its just the plates you need you could always have them made or made up, an afternoon with some files a holesaw and drills/countersinks if screwed on would be all thats needed, get the brass from a local engineering firm,

SKS sell a lot of escutions but the only round holed one is also a round plate so i guess thats not what you want,

Have you tired aldridges?

Ill be honest and say its not somthing i regulary deal with and when i have its been the high security ones that bolt through the door of outside doors so i will have to step aside and let omeone who does know carry on,

Sorry i cant help,

The escutcheons are in the Aldridge catalogue - pg 322 of the locking directory, related products to the ERA 415.
