The amount of pins makes no difference. if u can get a 7 pin then get it.
The brand does matter one hell of a lot. you want something cheap. if you start off on a DOM or a KABA you will give up before you get any where near being able to open it. And yes I know they both have security pins but its more about the tolerances.
