Question on the GSA X09's Filing Cabinets

Hi,

I work on Navy Ships and do quite a bit of work with X09 GSA Security Class 6 file cabinets... Normally when combo is lost, I just get the saw and cut the bars on both sides... but lately I've ran into a couple of them that the combo was working but when going to open the bar would not retract all the way up. The dial would only turn so far and stop and could not open safe.... I did some trial and error with some spare drawers I had laying around and noticed this problem occurs mainly when I retract the bolt from the back side to remove back cover and when reinserted, the bolt doesn't line up in the plunger correctly or all the way. My question is: Is their a way around this(fixing this) without having to cut safe open... I have templates for drilling.. problem is I dont have the tools for drilling these cabinets. I've tried many but the 3/8 hardened box it is in has given me many problems in past. So are there any other methods for fixing this problem? Such a simple problem, but a very costly one.

Any discussion of destructive entry is not allowed on these forums, and discussion of opening safes (and secure containers as you describe), as well anything regarding defeating the X09 is restricted to the advanced forums, and cannot be discussed here.

So unfortunately, nobody can post replies in this thread that will help you.

dont think anyone is going to help you, no talk about destructive entry and safes, if you dont know the proper way of opening the filing cabinets you shouldnt be doing it, and if it is your job to be doing it you should be getting some proper training to do it
