Where to buy security pins

Postby PhR0Z3N_PhL4M3 » 24 Oct 2007 9:25

For some reason for me the search thing just does not pull up any posts at all... so anywho

Where is the best place to buy security pins for some practice locks? I do not have my practice lock as of yet, but I'm sure I'll go grab a Kwikset deadbolt soon (wish I woulda kept my old ones) I checked out lockpicks.com but they just had re-pining sets (they did have a security pin set but it had like 30 of each pin which was a tad excessive for me) Just wanted to know if there was a good site where I could buy like 5 of each or so thanks!

Hi mate,
I know you said the LAB kit at lockpicks.com is a tad expensive but it has some pretty good gear in it. It was recommended to me so I brought it and it turned up in the mail today. I couldn't be happier with it, I was surprised the difference adding spool pins could make, not just to picking but the resistance to using a pick gun as well (some people say that spool pins make little difference when using impact methods but I found the lock to be much more resistant).

I tried to find a place that sold just a few pins but couldn't manage to find anything so I just went with the LAB kit when I could afford it. There was some place I remember seeing that where selling small packs of security pins for American padlocks or something along those lines tho one of the more experienced members might have to help you out there.

Good luck

I remember Varjeal used to sell spool and serrated pins on his site but stopped for some reason. I don't think we've heard from him too much lately either. Hope he's ok.
