Hole on the bottom of lock??

Been picking for a while now,kinda getting good.I bought a couple of new master locks at a flea market,#140 and the other looks the same but covered in black plastic,no number.They both took a whole 5 minutes to find the security pins and pick the locks....Anyway they have little holes on the bottom,are they just from castings or what??
