If you're dealing with Master M1, Kwikset KW1 and other wide tolerance keyways, this is just not an issue.
I've had problems with multiple brands of aftermarket key blanks for Best IC locks.
Blanks from allaboutkeymachine.com. These are nickel plated brass. No marking on who makes them.
L - do not fit at all. Completely out of tolerance.
K - stiff/do not fit, goes into M keyway when it isn't supposed to
Kaba-ILCO
K - goes into M. It is not supposed to
FM - stiff going into F keyway. varying from batch to batch.
I'll post macro shots of each type.
Whom do I turn to get QUALITY key blanks for close tolerance keyways, such as the complex IC keyways? Obviously, BEST OEM is the best, but they're not readily available.
