Love your tutorial UWSDWF, best thing ive seen all day....
as for Jewmasterflex, you deserve all the sarcastic, stupid, make fun of you replys, Your first post, and your asking how to pick a lock...
Why are you wanting to pick this lock, why are you picking a lock in use... does this lock belong to you?
There are plenty of tutorials, and other posts exactly like this one, and the other posts like this one get treated exactly the same as your one has, if your wanting to pick a lock, just for the hell of it, then dont pick one that is in use, you CAN damage a lock from picking it, especialy if you dont know what your doing, or if your using tools not made for picking locks, eg paperclips, (I had a call out the other week from a parent of a 15 yo who was trying to pick the front door with a paperclip, and got it jammed....)

1. Hit the lock casing with a sledgehammer
2. Pick the lock up from the floor
3. $Profit$

1. proly Shortened form of the word probably. usually used in im or fags who talk im in person. For the lazy people who can't spell probably. (properly)
dude1: hey you going to the game tonight? dude2: proly. you? dude1: proly
Ps. Funnyest = Funniest!

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

Nzleagle, you have not been here long so you may not see that posts like yours are killing this site. New members don't post after their 1st post erupts into flaming and they move on to other sites available. His first post asking how to pick a lock seems perfectly reasonable to me. You are aware this is a lockpicking forum right?

That's pretty much sure and seeing all the negative comments, it took me a month to post. That said, that's a lot of nonsense posts that didn't come up from me. So being a bit harsh is good, atleast to a point.

I think UW was pretty nice on this one, lol. No insluting. Just a laugh. Polite and informative answers are always good and helpful, which is what this site is about, but at the same time, the thread title wasn't the best (understatement) and the post wasn't the best either (again.. understatement). If students keep gettin worse at subjects, do we lower the school standards? Well... here they do, but they shouldn't. When you're out in the field, noone will slow down the bullet 'cause someone can't duck fast enough.
But.. on the subject of this thread, Freakparade pretty much covered it all. Personally, I recommend reading the LSI guide first, it introduces the mechanics a little faster and in a less boring form and with nice pics. Then you can look at the MIT one for more details. Then there's a pretty huge amount of stuff on this site too.. if you bother finding it.
